Over the last couple years the Mississippi Lime play of Northern Oklahoma and Southern Kansas has spurred a revival of sorts for the oil and gas industry in the north midcontinent region. While drilling activity is up in this area there is still much to be known about the complex geology of this important play.
Join KU TORP in conjunction with the Kansas Geological Survey, Kansas Geological Society and the University of Arkansas, as we explore the lower Mississippian geology of the tri-state region in a one-and-a-half day field trip designed to study key outcrops in the area.
The trip will depart from Rogers, Arkansas. The evening of day one will consist of registration, dinner, and general format meeting to discuss the details of the next day’s events. Then the bus will depart the morning of day two and travel through key locations in Arkansas and Missouri. Day three will follow the same format and complete around noon returning to the departure location.
